Culture of Bangladesh
The culture of Bangladesh is intertwined with the culture of the Bengal region.Bangladesh is ethnically homogeneous,with Bengalis comprising 98% of the population.Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country.Muslims constitute around 87% of the population in Bangladesh while Hindus and Buddhists are the most significant minorities of the country.
The culture of Bangladesh is an amalgamation of the cultures of the several social groups living in the country.The people of Bangladesh way of life make up the culture of Bangladesh.
Festivals and Celebrations- The culture of Bangladesh incorporates festivals and celebration.The events include Eid ul-Fitr ,Eid ul-Adha,Chand Raat from Islam as well as Janmashtami and Durga Puja from Hinduism.The people of Bangladesh also celebrate national holidays like Independence Day and Language Movement Day.
Clothing And Cuisine-The dress preferences in Bangladesh are Unique.Bangladesh men's casual wear in rural areas in the Lungi with formal clothing being suits or shirts and trousers.On cultural and religous occasions,men have traditional wear called Panjabi.In women ,the traditional and main dress is the Shari,with young females also wearing salwar Kameez.
Sports -Sports is an integral part of the culture of Bangladesh,and a very popular source of entertainment .Bangladesh national sports is Kabaddi.The most popular game is the country is cricket with football coming is second.
